Dear G. Roger:

May 12 - 1954

long time no hear. First that all goes well.

News in general good, but the usual minor complications. The estate has deposited in the Dhaee Bank £3500 in non-payment funds on the furniture etc. I am under the impression that the amount should have been £300 and that that is the sum retained for the estate by Sir F. From the Iraqi stock sale. Opinion here seems to be that if that is the case, instead of bothering him again about the matter, it might be best for Sir F. to make the adjustment at this end - that is, something like a refund for an overpayment of £10.

From Doris states that the Griffin account is overdrawn by £22.4.7; that is, I suppose, on Eileen's travel and supplies from here. From the first £10,000 from the estate. I am not sufficiently familiar with the particulars of the account to be able to check on it myself (I probably put clerical errors of the home office in both the Griffin and the Hulme accounts) and you will have to have it out with Doris on your return. But as the amount is minor and she wants the books to be clear and to balance at the end of the fiscal year on June 30, I suggested that Dr Pro give this amount from the joint account to make the books balance, and then if there has been a mistake you can find it on your return and get reimbursed. Sorry about these minor items.

Then: Agnes Oliver will send us...
