Handwritten: Dear Roger,

The forthcoming despatch to Hjortsjö of some further skulls from Berards tombs at Ktima has reminded me that we never gave him a final answer about the Curium Expedition's material and in particular the Bamboula skulls which George showed him when he was here. I enclose a copy of a letter to Mr. Hill which indicates the position. I think we can arrange to have the material shipped to Sweden without cost to you or to us.

We have been in touch with Larry Angel about the Sotira skulls which we had hoped he would look at last summer. He has agreed to deal with them at Philadelphia if we send them. Dikaios considers it appropriate for him to do the work as a continuation of his work on the Khirokitia skulls.

Now if it were agreed that Larry should do the Sotira skulls your Museum might prefer that he deal with all those found in its Curium excavations. If any or all the Curium skulls (including Sotira) were to go to Philadelphia we might be able to arrange to have them shipped on carriage forward arrangements. I do not know how many skulls there are but I think 3 crates would be a fair estimate and you will be able to tell your people approximately what it will cost, (on your experience in shipping the pottery etc.)

Curium is settling down to the new regime. We have already borrowed Joe, and Christo for some trials on a school site at Kouklia, so it looks as if the staff there will have some archaeological work from time to time.

[handwritten: Hoping you have been able to relax a bit after your strenuous year here, and with all the best from Elektra and me

Yours Peter]
