Dear Rodney:

The enclosed 7 page effort is the result of the puzzlement of you and Fro; at the 12th. It should dispel all the puzzlement. Will you please keep it by you where least such is my intention. I will refer to it whenever I have to you can find it again? discuss estate and financial matters.

The accounts should speak for themselves. My own accounts, itemized on page 6, form part of the basis for my estimate for the remaining time. You will be gratified to note that your own original estimate of $400. per month for household expenses and wages has come out very nearly on the button so far.

The amount spent by Mr. Hill and Joe during the summer seems at first glance disproportionate. I haven't attempted to itemize the expenditures for that period, but in glancing through the bills left over from sizeable and excavation, which swell the total George's time, both personal and accounts I note a good number of itemized for you, if you consider ably, I can have these accounts. I am right in saying that Mr. Hill wish, though I believe I an itemized account of expenses up to June 30 sent Fro an itemized account of expenses up to June 30.

As to the "payment of the goodly amount - ca $10-12,000. ca. Aug. 1. I was referring to the payment to us by Sir Panayotis of the sums to be realized from the sale of the stocks, page 2, items 3 & 4. We is selling them for us, in accordance with Pro's instructions. I had been informed that no proceedings leading toward the eventual distribution of legacies could begin until the government accepted the property at Episkopi. And that after they had accepted and proceedings had begun there might be a wait of six months before we received anything. They accepted c a. Feb. 1, so I calculated ca. Aug. 1 for payment at the outside.

I understand now from Sir Panyotis that we may expect to receive payment for stocks sold when, or soon after, the transactions the Cyprus buyer now for the Passouri actually go through. He has a prospective buyer for the Passouri stock (at prices noted page 2): if he actually sells this week, it seems likely that we will receive cash for them within a short time. There are no bids for the Cyprus Airways as yet, so we must hang onto them until we get a good chance. If they declare a dividend in July this year as last the market for these stocks may be more hopeful later in our season.

I have already written you about George's personal checking account, item 5, page 2.

I should like to stress my recommendation for settling the matter of our purchase from the estate of furniture & equipment, page 4. [handwritten: ?]
