Jan. 3. Found your letter of Dec. 17 at the club yesterday. Had to appear on television with D.B.T. and four more famous colleagues: Dr. Gwyn. We missed 4 out of 6 objects, but glorious fun! Don't see why I seemed Rhine (or cair) about Cyprian things. Will send out feelers. Everything much less already touched on teorico could fill. theory worth further excavation. Have thought of the worse possibilities of fields J.P. created by agitation of obsequio. Plus credit [illegible] agitated [illegible] meetly in N.Y. See letter on the way back. It was assumed that you would agree to have 2 living expenses: perhaps the $1500 made the difference in his estimate: saw Brown Dec. 15 when I saw him in Princeton, and Dec. 29 when I saw him in N.Y.
