… rents in the old. The posts for the dog-fence are all planted, and the ditch for the no-digging-under wire is dug and the wire of the fence itself is about half up. It should be finished this week, and then I will be able to have all the dogs - also I need the old McFadden doghouse, donated by Caroline but still at Bloomfield - John Soeth brought our own, and it is installed. I have only Izzy here at the moment, and while I am in town he lives on one of the trolleys and doesn't seem to mind much, although he gets very excited when I get back in the evening. He has grown very big (I hope finished) and is very amiable. Next weekend I will bring Filby, and then Isty and Adana in that order: I think Adana is a little temperamental and it is well to bring her last, when the others are already established and she will not feel that she has anything to say about letting in newcomers. The fence is 5 feet high; Adana is the only one I mistrust being able to jump over it. We shall see. I think they will like the new place, and so will you; can't why we wasted so much time staying in Villanove, and am most grateful to Caroline for inciting the move (now that it is over). Barely under 16 miles from here to Museum; used to be 14. Only to re on the way is 69th st.; also Chestnut-Walnut somewhat dull.
Guess that must be all for now. Tonight (i.e., in an hour) to dinner at the deanery in Bryn Mawr, in glad rags, to meet Mr. and Mrs. Denys Page; he the Flexner lecturer this year, she the daughter of Mrs. Dohan. Because of latter connection really had to go, and so passed up a birthday party for Linton at the Art Alliance.
