22 September 1968Dear Roger,

It was indeed a pleasure to receive your letter of 6 September. The delay in answering it is due an attempt to find answers to your queries. Before going into that I must say that I greatly appreciate the distinction of having any of my material published in such a journal as the AJA and under the care of so competent a person as Mabel Lang. I realise that publication in this form would probably entail reduction in the bulk of the material used; text, tables, drawings, photographs, &c., but perhaps, if thought worth while, all the original material could be kept together in case some researcher wanted to delve.

As to the problems: in my copy the Table of Contents shows "Figures" for page 46 (as yours does) but my page 46-48 are in fact a list of "Plates" (described in Table of Contents as "Plates") No List of Figures seems to have been provided - perhaps waiting to see which Figures would finally be published. Page 39, "Table of Cross references" gives up to 8 figures. I shall check with text and drawings to see if I can provide something more helpful. I am rather weary and I don't know what success I shall have in checking old rolls of sunprints, &c. I'll send the results as soon as I can.

Meanwhile, my best wishes to you all especially esteemed Mabel Lang.
