September 25, 1953Dear Roger: -

Ellen arrived after what must have been one of the longest voyages ever made under steam from Italy. There is a good deal of editorial work to be done but I am sure she can alot her time so that she will be able to supervise Crowmover collections. The chief editorial in his work on the Cypriot collections. The chief editorial so that she will not have a variety of things to concentrate on in that goal is the completion of the Woolley manuscript so that she will not have a variety of things to concentrate on in that will not have a variety of things to concentrate on in that department. Jaynes resignation. She got a better job nearer her house, since Mrs. Morton is working on the switchboard since Miss Morton is doing a very good job.

You will be glad to hear that the shelving has been acquired and is being installed in the very near future. It cost $250 and I hope will be adequate for the material. Crowmover is ready to start and will undertake the preliminary sorting to prepare the floor for the shelving's installation.

I have just heard that Rodney, Ki and Miss Coxe are on their way to Kunduz where Rodney will stay for two weeks to get ki started on the Buddhist monastary. He will then proceed to Balkh where he will make a deep cut in what he thinks is the oldest part of the site.

Mrs. Thompson has been over here for the registration of students and is ready to start the course next week. I think the financial situation is now straightened out and that you will have plenty of funds for the day to day operation of the job. If you have any questions about this, please let us know. In the meantime, very best of luck. Best wishes from everybody.

As ever,
