May 27, 1953Dear Joe:

I am sure that Roger Edwards has written to you about our plans for continuation and completion at Curium. We are following as closely as possible the recommendations made by Young and Hill when they were at Episkopi. I simply want to thank you for looking after everything there during this period before Roger can arrive. We all appreciate it very much and we all realize what a personal tragedy this is for you. I feel very gloomy about the whole thing but of course I am anxious to complete everything there properly for the sake of George. Certainly I don't want to interfere with any arrangements Hill, Rodney or Roger have made with you, but I just wanted to express my personal appreciation to you and ask you to let us know if there is anything we can do to help you out.

Sincerely,
