If it were not for the fact that I have retired from the Vice Presidency of the Sun Oil Company, and hence am rather pinched in finances, I would very keenly enjoy doing this job myself, but at the present moment I do not see how I could swing it. On the other hand, I think that we could find supporters of this project if you thought that we could obtain equipment either from the Jersey Company who understand are planning to prospect for oil in Turkey, or possibly from the Iraq Petroleum, who are not far away from this site in Iraq. It might also be that you would be interested in taking part in the work since I am sure it would even further improve the entente cordiale between the U.S.A. and the Turkish government.

If you think well of the suggestion, I would be glad to talk to Gene Holman and see how they feel about making a contribution either in money or equipment toward this project.

Mildred joins me in sending best regards to Mrs. McGhee and you, and in hoping that our paths may cross in the not too distant future.

Awaiting your suggestions, I am

Sincerely yours,
