CURIUM EXCAVATIONS EPISKOPI, LIMASSOL CYPRUS

26th June, 1951Associate Director, University Museum, 33rd & Spruce street, Philadelphia.

Dear Mr. Kidder:-

Thanks for your letter of June 1st which reached me only yesterday. We appreciated that the duty was very high but as Bob wanted the film we seemed to have no other choice but to clear it for him through Customs and to pay the air freight on it. The amount we were forced to pay was, as you doubtless realize, beyond our control. As Bob was short of funds we paid for his passage to Ankara and I hope this was alright. This item appears on one of the debit notes enclosed with my letter to you of 24th May. All other expenses have been debited to our own expedition account. As I wrote Fro in my letter of June 23rd I have applied to the American Consul to help us obtain a refund on the duty.

Sincerely yours,

Handwritten: George McFadden
