October 13, 1948Dear George:
I am very glad to learn that you are now enrolled in Princeton's Graduate school. I hope you find it worthwhile and interesting.
We would like to use your report for a number of the Bulletin and Marian tells me we have a copy of it here in the office. Do you have a copy of it to make the changes you suggest or do you wish us to return this one? At the moment I am trying to get Dr. Legrain to do the next Bulletin on excavations at Nippur fifty years ago. This would seem timely since Carl and Francis have just left for Nippur last week to continue work there. However, we are to get out four Bulletins this year and I would like your report for one of them.
By the way, it is my understanding of our agreement that Pete, while at Kourion in November, i. e., the total $20,000 arranged for on the Kourion fund, i. e., the total $20,000 arranged for this year. Is this the way you recall our understanding? Please let me know when you get back to town.
Best wishes,
