… having a telegram from him a few announcing when he is due to arrive at Piraeus. From now until Jan 17 there are rooms at the School that he and Sue (a Grace of course) may occupy; from Jan. 17 to about Feb. 20 there is a whole house at their disposal.

I hope that Joe has recovered already from the illness of which Sue wrote me; but presume he may have no great desire to supervise work on the architectural inventory. There is, however, one thing for you to do in that connection, since I did not manage myself. The blocks found in the vestibule-porch of the East Building (by which we go from Street 1 into the main room) were at first, you will recall, laid on the late South wall of the 'vestibule' and those from the room next north (except two heavy ones) were laid on the late North wall of the 'vestibule'. I had them shifted - by Christofi son of Antonis - to the area west of street 1. There they were laid in more or less order in two groups - the smaller, southern as they lie, being from the S. wall of the vestibule, is from the vestibule itself and the larger, northern as they lie, from the N. wall i.e. from the room north of the vestibule. It would be well to put \wooden or\ a labels in pencil on waterproof paper with them where they are; [and in due time to include them in the catalogue with blocks from the street (using numbers of Christofi's list given to or painted on blocks that prove unworthy to be catalogued), specifying the room in which each was found - but about all this there is no hurry if the two lots of blocks remain where they are and have their two wooden labels.] I look to hear from you by next mail, in reply to my letter of 22-25 Dec - for which much B.H.H.
