Dear Peter,
Many thanks for your note. I have been [handwritten: Many thanks for your note] interesting to hear from you and I wish I could come and see you, but I don't think it would be possible. [handwritten: meaning to write and ask him if he wouldn't] Jim Stewart and ask him if he wouldn't mind to come down and visit us for a few days if he like to come down and visit us for a few days if he can afford the time. I forget now whether his wife is with him but we could put them both up in our old excavation house which the land lord is willing to let us have on a day's notice. We are all looking forward to seeing you and Jim on Sunday but I'm afraid I shll be away all day until the late afternoon or early evening. I am on the Limassol ski team of five and can't back out very well as there are so few skiers in our district and the races are scheduled for this coming ing Sunday. If you can alter your plans or program and spend Sunday night here, it would be a great pleasure to all of us.
I was just about to write you, too, when your note came to tell you that in the course of removing surface soil within the walls of a new building near the mill on the main road here, a building now under construction, the workers came upon what appears to be an archaic tomb. Christo is cleaning it now, as something had to be done immediately.
