THE UNIVERSITY OF PENNSYLVANIA UNIVERSITY MUSEUM 33RD & SPRUCE STREETS, PHILADELPHIA 4

November 6, 1946Dear Mr. McFadden:

I am enclosing another copy of the Curium financial report which shows why we have not been able to deposit the fellowship money to the account of the Youngs as you requested. You will see that the only money we have in the Curium account in this country is the one thousand dollars deposited in October by the museum. The three thousand dollars given by you since the beginning of this fiscal year, July first, has been put in the Curium Excavations Fund in the Ottoman Bank in Limassol as well as our one thousand. This you directed in your letter of July sixteenth. What are your wishes in the matter? Will you pay the Youngs from the overseas account or shall we wait to receive the balance of your generous gift to pay them in this country?

The museum has been terrifically busy since your departure with the foreign scientists and also the delegates to the International Assembly of Women - we are getting to be the crossroads of the world.

Do let us hear from you when you can spare a minute and the best of luck!

Very sincerely,
