That is surely a most important discovery, and I confess also rather surprising to me. It is a pity that I do not remember exactly what sherds you mean, nor can I find any trace of them in my notes. I am very much looking forward for further information. Are they many?

As for Gjerstad's and my chronological discussions I think we have to meet somewhere on the midway. He does not agree that Cypro-Geom. III begins so early as c. 900 (my tentative date, inspired chiefly by Megiddo). That does not fit in as regards the sculpture which in Ajia Irini begins during a fairly early stage of that period. This gives (or may give, rather) a sort of compromise as he does not seriously object against my earlier dates for the two first periods:

I. 1100 - 1025 ? II 1025 - 850 III 850 - 700 etc...

I hope you have had a good season both of you and not that sort of trouble with P.D. as I have heard from Stewart that he has had.

Please, remember me to Mr. MacFadden and give Christo my kind regards and best thanks for the photos.

Yours very sincerely Erik Gjerstad
