den [handwritten: August 13], 1937.

Dear [handwritten: Mr.] Jayne,

thank you very much for your letter of July 24th. It is most encouraging. I wrote Mr. [handwritten: ?] I immediately and I think there will be glad to have a short Autumn campaign. I am glad in a way the article will be published as it is not quite accurate in one or two respects and can certainly be improved and made more interesting by new information.

I am planning to sail for home the first week in September when I can give you a reasonably full outline of what we have done the last season. I have not for the moment enough data or photographs with me. Pete Daniel discovered and had dug in the neighbourhood of Curium the site of a settlement belonging to the 13th or 12th Century B.C. which is going to prove apparently quite interesting and important. I continued clearing the Sanctuary of Apollo. The depth of soil is so inconsequential that I think the area can be cleared in two or three more full seasons. It will make a fine show. Among the finds of the last season in the Sactuary was a good 5th or 4th centruary bronz statuette of a satyr of a unique type.

Looking forward to seeing you soon,

I am,

Sincerely yours,

Handwritten: Geo. Mustilli
