Dr. B.H.Hill 9 Plutarch street Athens

Dear Dr. Hill

I have had yesterday an interview with the Commissioner Limassol with regard to the proposed compulsory acquisition of certain plots at Curium for the purpose of excavations for antiquities. He explained to me the last agreement made between you and the Government of Cyprus in respect of the payment of the compensation to be finally awarded to the owners of such plots and he asked me whether the sum representing your share can be placed somewhere in Cyprus at the disposal of the Government before any legal proceedings for compulsory acquisition are taken. I promised to the Commissioner that I shall communicate with you on the above subject. It appears that the Government is not willing to start legal proceedings for the compulsory acquisition of the above plots unless your share in the total amount of compensation is placed at the disposal of the Government.

I should give to the Commissioner unless you will be in Cyprus soon when you may arrange matters personally. I am to request you to let me know what answer

Awaiting your news

Yours sincerely,
