No. 3/35.

9 Plutarch Street, Athens,

8th September, 1936The Director of Antiquities, Nicosia, Cyprus.

Sir,

In reply to your letter dated 17th August, 1936, respecting the proposed acquisition by the Government of a part of the site of Curium,I have the honour to state in behalf of the University of Pennsylvania Archaeological Expedition that the Expedition is now prepared to contribute two thirds of the full cost of expropriation of the area designated in my letter of April 20th, 1936, even if the amount of compensation assessed by the [handwritten: Court] of Arbitration proves to be considerably in excess of the sum of £ 180 which we have judged a generous estimate of the value of the land.

For the University of Pennsylvania Archaeological Expedition,

Handwritten: signature

B.H.Hill, Director.
