Helwan sounded more Abyssinian than Italian to me! There is no direct boat now. I shall have to go to Alexandria. I can't leave before the 29th because of possible messages from various parts of America, as well as because of my work here. Boats leave Alexandria for Cyprus once a week, on Tuesdays. So I expect to leave here a week from Saturday, on the Khedivial I think it is -- the same line which will carry me on to Cyprus by way of Port-Said. That means I shan't be in Episkopi till Tuesday Sept. 5, -- and that, glad as I shall be to see you again, I hope you will be late in starting the dig. I have written to Christo to push things as far as he can without my presence. If I could have seen you I would have suggested the possibility of getting the Lapithos storeroom open before I arrive. The time is going to seem very crowded.

Of course I shall be glad to deliver any messages.

Yours sincerely, Virginia Grace
