… expedition it would suit me.

The rumours of Christo's engagement are quite true. The formal engagement is to take place on Tuesday. He is in a great flurry about it all, but is nevertheless doing his duty by us, doing it as well as anyone could possibly desire.

Miss Taylor is coming through tomorrow, and I have asked her to lunch. Georkos (the foreman) was here the other day, and was delighted at our progress. He thinks that the top of the hill is early, and the wall geometric. He says that we probably well have him for foreman next time. I hope one sha'n't object.

I shall see to the placing of the stakes you asked for. Thank you for the plans.

Sincerely, Peter
