9 Plutarch Street, Athens

1 August 1934Dear Miss Taylor,

The supplementary permit you were so good as to forward to me has been duly received. I have sent acknowledgement to the Colonial Secretary's office.

I have had rather a struggle to plot my hurried and imperfect survey of the principal points on the site of Curium, but they are finally on paper and I hope to get tracing of the Mr.Daniel by next post so that the may sketch out-lines of the trenches. I am asking him to give you a copy of the result.

The summary report of the several trenches on the hill I will try to have prepared as soon as I can. Mr.McFadden's notebooks, if, however, the form finds time now before he leaves Cyprus, along with the sketch plan. The photographs to accompany the reports will have to be made in Athens. They will be sent as early as possible --- unless it proves better that I bring them when I return to Cyprus in the autumn.

Mr.Daniel will report on the work in the Lazarus Kalorizikia cemetery directly he has finished there. He or ...

Kalorizikia cemetery directly he has finished there --- all small objects and anything of especial value from the cemetery to the Museum. I hope that you will find the pottery need not be brought to Nicosia until after my return.

You were good enough to say that the Museum would attend to the paying of Christo's wages as guard. I will ask Mr.Daniel to inform you the date up to which he has paid him. Christo will of course be responsible for the choice of any temporary substitute for the day his own services and for either when he must be absent. Officially Christo can be only £2:10:0 per month, but I have wages as guard. I will ask Mr.Daniel to inform you the date up to which he has paid him.

make the amount of about £6 with Mr.Dikaios, which, if it is within reach. I wish you would use for the first payments to Christo, I will of course send you a cheque --- as I shall do in any case when the third month's salary is due.

Mr.Daniel will be asking to be allowed to comcarry off a packet of sherds so that they may be compared with pieces here. They will all be quite worthless and I should think need not be returned: but we shall, naturally, be prepared to bring them back if that is desired. I expect Mr. Daniel to work at Episkopi, or stope, a little time after he finishes, or
