-7- P.S. Monday

Dick returned from Corinth yesterday, telling me that you had just heard from Mc Fadden, who was still here. I knew that the captain was sick, but the last time I saw Mc Fadden he still expected to leave on Saturday.

Acting on this new information, I took the theodolite down to the Piraeus this morning, only to find that he has left. So I brought it back to your house.

I can't see that it is going to cause any trouble on the boat to Crete. It is light, securely packed, and easy to manage. The tripod is long, but not unwieldy.

Taking it down to Crete doesn't impress me as a very formidable task.
