K 8/4 Opening of UF 139 below 138. in the N part of the trench Descent to the altitude 2,31 m, where one finds in the extension of locus 456 direction S. N, locus 458, composed of greyish earth very 90 cm compacted on which appear some fragments of large marmaro, and against which one finds a minuscule preserved on fragment of plaster rim. At 1 m to the N of 2,30 m 456 there was a small heap of large stones and earth, perhaps coming from 456 (same varied stones, uncut, sandstones and pebbles) resting on this greyish earth. The N end of this wall 458 is not known which continues in K 8/1; the contact with 456 seems to appear at the bottom of the hole. It remains to be specified by descending into K 8/4 south part of the trench, in the future. One does not know indeed whether 456 descends as low (little visible in section; upper height of 456 : 3,62). Remarks on the stratigraphy :

- the trench which one would distinguish in section, (p. 21) to the E, in UF 138 N part is problematic.

- in this UF 138 N part and in 139 one can distinguish 2 different stratigraphies on the sections E and W:

•on the E baulk and E part of the cut section the length of the robbing (thus as far as on the robbing of the wall 458); no stratigraphy [or the problematic trench]

•on the W section and W part of the cut section the length of the robbing, a stratigraphy in place

=> Hypothesis concerning locus 458: it supported the same type of wall as 452; 456 corresponds to 450, intermediate states between the packing of stones and the wall. All
