- Preliminary sounding S7 (= in J 11/1) backfilled -

- L 9/2 and L 9/3:

*The "pit" 757, whose fill consisted essentially of large limestone blocks, now seems to be interpreted as the robbing of the return of wall 759. (but it does not have the same width puisq uel This wall of which only the trace remains (= 757)) was oriented NNW / SSE. (the "robbing" is 1 m wide, i.e. a wall of ~ 0,80 m thickness whereas 759 is 1,40 m thick.) It should be compared with the wall found in the sounding LN/13 published in KB III -

*The fills on either side of this robbing 757 are very clearly distinguished both in L 9/2 and in L 9/3 - (almost no sherds in the extension of robbing 757 in L 9/2)

L 9/3 * The fill to the E of 757 consists of very numerous brick fragments used as packing = UF 5 - There is no brick in UF 4 (rubble) It is very clearly distinguished from the fill to the W where there is no brick => to the W = UF 11 from the altitude of 3.70 m ~ .

L 9/2

*Discovered in the SW corner of the quadrant to the W of the robbing ("pit") 757 a very clear floor = locus 761 (at 0.23 m below the patch of floor 758) -> altitude = 3.69 m. No sherds flat on the floor but several fragments of -> Cut by robbing 757. Traces of burnt wood very clear brick, fallen) and clear limit of this trace = beam? Sample taken. on the floor. Pottery found between floors 758 and 761 isolated = UF 10 = homogeneous assemblage of the 10th c. - To the east of robbing 757, material apparently less homogeneous, much Hellenistic -> creation of UF 12 from 3.70 m ~ to the E of 757 - -> next page
