2 problems. 11 a - on the rock walls, to the South and to the east, no trace of sea no shells in place no witness of a shoreline. → it does not seem [illegible] of a that there was a shoreline there, even if these are ancient "marine rocks".
b in the east wall, one clearly distinguishes a white floor, in the extension of the floor of beaten earth of the ramp at ▲ 1.51 m and which descends regularly towards the North, until disappearing into the North baulk at ▲ 1.14 m
⇒ in fact, the "basin" opposite the ramp appears to be a pit. stone pit? to recover sandstone? Hellenistic pit? a few sherds were found atypical in the baulk (amphorae Classical / Hellenistic) + 1 skyphos handle with thumb-rest, type 3rd c. red slip.
The working hypothesis would therefore be:
ramp built 10 m long. ramp in beaten earth known as far as the wall North, i.e. 8.50 m further (the sea being further to the North)
part of the ramp having been cut through by a Hellenistic pit.
