It turns out, in fact, that massif 459 is a staircase, with two flights of steps, one completely 15 levelled to the east (excavation 1985, fragments of slabs of marmaro attached to 453) the other devant to the west: 3 steps survive in place, slabs of marmaro. These two staircases were abutted at the centre, on the massif 459, which served as a solid central "cage", on the sides, on the piers 453 and 476

These staircases reached the Geometric floor in place, which served as a sub-floor in the Classical period = |sol 477| This sub-floor seems to form an underground "corridor", oriented east/west, parallel to wall 432, in relation with the slabs of marmaro of wall 432 cf. plaster in place in H8/3, marking a return of the plaster to the north.

New sounding Pierre-Louis Gatier in J8/1-J8/4, to see what happens at a place where the wall has not been removed.

- continuation UF 208 in H9/3 (2)

- continuation UF 206 (3) in H8/1.

UF 208 (H9/3): clearing of the continuation of the wall 454, towards the north some large dressed blocks. Does not seem to be linked to wall 475

clearing of the packing between 453 and 474 (large stones).

UF 206 (H8/1): the trench is difficult to define, one descends into the robbing debris to see better.
